Editorial, Sources & Corrections Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

Airsoft DB is intended to be a useful independent reference database rather than a copy of retailer marketing. This policy explains how we source, verify, present and correct catalogue information.

Source hierarchy

Where practical, we prefer sources in this order:

  1. Manufacturer product pages, manuals, technical sheets and official documentation.
  2. Authorised distributor or established retailer specifications, especially for UK-market performance and availability.
  3. Other reputable specialist sources where primary information is unavailable.

We may use more than one source where specifications conflict or where market-specific information differs.

Structured data

We normalise manufacturer and retailer wording into consistent fields so products can be filtered and compared. We do not intentionally turn an unknown value into a confirmed negative. Where a specification is uncertain, contradictory or market-dependent, the record should say so rather than present a guess as fact.

Verification dates and changing products

Catalogue records may include a verification date and source-quality information. A verification date shows when a record was checked; it does not guarantee that a manufacturer or retailer has not changed the product afterwards.

Performance data

FPS and joule figures can vary with BB weight, gas, temperature, spring, seal condition, hop setup, production batch and measurement method. Airsoft DB aims to preserve the test basis or source context where it matters instead of presenting a single number as universally applicable.

Market status and prices

Out of stock is not automatically treated as discontinued. Current/discontinued status is based on the best evidence available at the time of verification. Prices and availability can change quickly and should be checked with the seller before purchase.

Images and manufacturer material

Airsoft DB does not assume that manufacturer or retailer images are free to reuse. Product imagery is added only where a permission, licence or other recorded usage basis exists. Where required, Airsoft DB retains the source URL, credit and permission basis and will honour applicable removal requests.

Independence and commercial relationships

Airsoft DB is independent. A manufacturer supplying information, correcting a record or granting image permission does not give that manufacturer control over the site’s factual conclusions. Any future sponsorship, affiliate relationship or paid placement that could affect how users interpret content will be clearly disclosed.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please send the affected page, the field you believe is wrong, the proposed correction and a reliable source to will@airsoft-db.co.uk or use the on-page change-request feature where available.

Submissions are reviewed against the available evidence. Accepted changes may be incorporated into the catalogue and retained in the site’s audit history.
