Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

Airsoft DB is an independent airsoft reference and comparison website. This privacy notice explains what personal information we collect when you use airsoft-db.co.uk, why we use it, and the choices and rights available to you.

Who is responsible for your information?

Airsoft DB is the data controller for personal information processed through this website.

For privacy enquiries, data-rights requests or concerns, contact will@airsoft-db.co.uk.

Information we may collect

Technical and security information

When you visit the site, our web server and hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, referring page, date and time, and security or error-log information. This is normal for operating and protecting a website.

Information you choose to send us

If you email Airsoft DB, submit a correction or change request, or otherwise contact us, we may receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, suggested correction and supporting source links.

Browser preferences and local storage

The site may store limited information on your device for essential functionality and, where you allow it, to remember preferences such as dark mode. The comparison tool may also use browser storage to keep selected products available while you move around the site. See our Cookies & Storage Policy for details and controls.

Administrator accounts

WordPress administrator or authorised contributor accounts use the normal account, login and security information needed to manage the website. Public visitors do not need an account to browse Airsoft DB.

Why we use this information

  • To provide and secure the website: including page delivery, fraud and abuse prevention, troubleshooting, backups and security monitoring. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable website and, where relevant, legal obligations.
  • To respond to messages and corrections: including reviewing evidence, replying to enquiries and maintaining a record of material catalogue corrections. We rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining accurate data and communicating with people who contact us.
  • To remember optional preferences: where browser storage is not exempt from consent requirements, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw that choice through Cookie settings.

Third parties and external services

We use service providers that support the operation of the website, such as hosting and infrastructure providers. They may process limited technical information on our behalf where necessary to provide their services.

Airsoft DB currently loads the Open Sans typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font resources, Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser information and the requested resource. We use this to provide consistent site typography and minimise layout changes.

Product pages also link to manufacturers, retailers and other source websites. Following an external link takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Server and security logs are retained according to operational and security needs. Enquiries and correction submissions may be retained while they are being handled and afterwards where a record is useful for catalogue accuracy, dispute handling or audit purposes.

Our consent preference is designed to be refreshed after approximately six months. Optional stored preferences are removed when consent expires or is withdrawn by the site controls.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we expect the relevant provider arrangements and legal safeguards to apply.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, or to object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You can exercise your rights by emailing will@airsoft-db.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

Children

Airsoft DB is a general reference website. We do not ask public visitors to create accounts and we do not intentionally use the site to profile children or collect children’s information for marketing.

Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy notice when the site, its features or the services we use change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
